Railway Board clears new line between Hubli-Belagavi

A new 73 kilometer long Railway line Project between Belagavi and Hubli via Kittur and Dharwad has been sanctioned by the Railway Board, a statement by the headquarters of the South Western Railway said yesterday (Monday, 7th September 2020). According to it, the New line was likely to reduce the travel time between Belgaum-Hubli by at least one hour, reducing the distance by about 31 kilometers. Eleven new stations were planned between Dharwad and Belgaum, including four stations i.e. Dharwad, Kyarakoppa, Belgaum and Desur which were already available. The other new stations were Mammigatti, Teguru, Kittur, Hulikatti, M K Hubballi, Bagewadi and Kanvikarvinkoppa.
