Railway Minister Meets Khatu Shyam Ji Temple Delegation to Enhance Rail Connectivity

Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw met with a delegation from the Shri Khatu Shyam Ji Temple Trust from Sikar, Rajasthan, on July 8, 2026. The delegation included Shri Sumedhanand Saraswati, Former Member of Parliament (Sikar), Shri Jhabar Singh Kharra, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Urban Development and Housing Department, Government of Rajasthan, and members of the Shri Shyam Mandir Committee such as Shri Shakti Singh Chauhan, Shri Maanvendra Singh Chauhan, and Shri Mohan Singh (Das) Chauhan.

The meeting focused on enhancing rail connectivity and passenger facilities to accommodate the large number of devotees visiting the world-renowned Khatu Shyam Ji Temple. The delegation expressed gratitude to the Railway Minister for Indian Railways’ ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and the travel experience for pilgrims.

Shri Vaishnaw shared details about the proposed new railway station on the Sikar–Ringas rail section between Palsana and Baori Thikria stations. This station will provide safer, better, and more convenient services for travelers to Khatu Shyam Ji.

He explained that technical preparations will begin first, covering engineering and signalling works on existing lines, the new railway line construction, and its integration with the current network. Following this, the station building construction will commence.

The station will be located approximately 11 kilometres from the Khatu Shyam Ji Temple and will reflect Rajasthan’s rich architectural and cultural heritage. It will include a modern booking office, spacious waiting halls, clean toilets, and other passenger-friendly amenities to ensure a comfortable travel experience.

This development aims to improve rail access for lakhs of devotees annually, enhance passenger convenience, strengthen regional connectivity, promote tourism, stimulate the local economy, and augment railway infrastructure in the region.

The project underlines Indian Railways’ commitment to modern, passenger-centric infrastructure that supports the growing mobility needs of pilgrims and local communities.
