Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has secured a significant contract from East Central Railway for a key railway infrastructure project in Bihar. The project involves the construction of doubling works on the 41.04 km rail stretch between Kundawa Chainpur (excluding) and Raxaul (excluding) within the Samastipur Division.

This project is part of the larger Sitamarhi–Raxaul doubling initiative. It encompasses earthwork, blanketing, construction of major and minor bridges, development of station and other buildings, platform renovation, level crossing works, and various miscellaneous tasks. The work will conform to the 25T Indian Railway Standard Loading specifications.

Valued at approximately ₹358.97 crore including GST, the project is scheduled to be completed within 1,095 days. RVNL’s achievement as the Lowest Bidder (L1) underscores its dedication to enhancing railway infrastructure with timely and high-quality engineering solutions.

This endeavor will boost capacity, improve connectivity, and increase operational efficiency in Bihar, contributing to the broader goals of infrastructure development under the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
