291-km Dharamjaigarh–Pathalgaon–Lohardaga Rail Line Approved, Connecting Jashpur to Railway Network

In a major infrastructure development, the Ministry of Railways has approved the Dharamjaigarh–Pathalgaon–Lohardaga new railway line as a special project. This 291-kilometre corridor will finally connect Jashpur district, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s home region, to the national railway network for the first time.

The railway line will start from Dharamjaigarh in Raigarh district, pass through Pathalgaon in Jashpur, and extend to Lohardaga in Jharkhand. The project aims to promote social, economic, and industrial growth in the region by enhancing connectivity.

The Ministry of Railways issued the notification under the Railways Act, 1989, emphasizing the public interest and national infrastructure benefits of the project. Despite Jashpur’s richness in natural resources, it has remained rail-disconnected until now.

This new rail link is expected to improve travel safety, boost tourism, create thousands of jobs, and attract increased investments to the area. The initiative is seen as a long-awaited milestone for the local communities and the broader region.
