BCPL Railway Secures Rs 46.18 Million Contract for Sealdah Division Electrification

BCPL Railway Infrastructure Limited has been awarded a contract worth Rs 46.18 million by the Sealdah Division of Eastern Railway. The project, confirmed through a Letter of Acceptance dated June 18, 2026, involves the design, engineering, supply, erection, and commissioning of 25 KV Overhead Equipment (OHE) and associated electrical work. This includes modifications to existing OHE infrastructure to support platform extension across multiple stations within the division.

Scheduled for completion within 12 months, the contract is part of the platform extension initiative aimed at accommodating longer trains. The extensions are expected to improve passenger movement, enhance safety, and handle increasing commuter traffic in the suburban railway network.

Uday Narayan Singh, Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of BCPL Railway Infrastructure Limited, expressed satisfaction over securing the contract. He emphasized the company’s dedication to advancing the modernization and expansion of India’s railway network. Singh highlighted that projects like this enhance transportation capacity and operational efficiency, contributing to a better travel experience for passengers.
