Vaishnaw highlighted several key developments to enhance rail capacity in the region. A new station with five platforms is being constructed at Hardinge Park to increase capacity around Patna. Additionally, the Fatuha area near Patna is also undergoing significant development to support growing rail traffic.
Marking a connectivity milestone, the Minister announced the launch of a new express train service connecting Chhapra to Delhi. This new train aims to address long-standing demands from the people of Chhapra and the wider Saran region.
The ‘Make in India’ initiative in Bihar’s railway sector is also showing success, with locomotives manufactured in the state now reaching global markets. The 51st locomotive engine was recently exported from the Marhowrah plant in Bihar to Guinea in Africa.
BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy welcomed the new train service, emphasizing its significance for passengers traveling both to and from Chhapra. Rudy noted the convenience of having a direct base station in Chhapra, eliminating the need for travelers to obtain tickets from Sonepur or Banaras. He called the train service a valuable addition to Bihar’s rail network and an important development for the people of Saran and the entire state.
