The announcement aligns with Indian Railways’ push towards accelerating the deployment of the KAVACH train protection system and expanding digital railway operations with an emphasis on cybersecurity.
Sourajit Mukherjee, director and CEO of e2e Rail and NOVA Control Technologix, highlighted the transformation underway in railway safety. He noted that while technologies like KAVACH have enhanced train protection, the growing digitization of signalling, train control, and operational systems imposes new challenges and imperatives on the industry.
The investment will focus on strengthening in-house R&D capabilities and developing indigenous deep-tech solutions related to railway safety, signalling, cybersecurity, and digital railway technologies.
Vinay Rao, promoter chairman of e2e Rail, expressed optimism about India’s potential to become a global leader in railway safety technologies, affirming NOVA’s commitment to invest over ₹100 crore in next-generation safety systems.
As part of its expansion strategy, NOVA is exploring strategic partnerships and acquisition opportunities in railway technologies, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and advanced engineering fields.
Currently, NOVA is collaborating with Tata Elxsi to integrate cybersecurity features with railway signalling and safety systems, aiming to build secure and resilient railway networks.
