
The project focuses on doubling a 41.04 km stretch between Kundawa Chainpur and Raxaul in the Samastipur Division of East Central Railway. The scope of work includes earthwork, blanketing, construction of minor and major bridges, station and other buildings, platform construction, level crossing work, and associated miscellaneous tasks to support 25-ton Indian Railway Standard Loading.
This project will be executed over 1,095 days. It was awarded under general contract conditions by East Central Railway, a domestic government entity. RVNL confirmed that the contract is part of its normal business operations and that neither the promoter nor promoter group holds an interest in the awarding entity, ensuring no related party transaction involvement.
Earlier in May 2026, RVNL was selected as the lowest bidder for a ₹129.46 crore project from North Eastern Railway. This contract involves the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of traction substations and switching posts along the Varanasi–Prayagraj section, aimed at upgrading electric traction power supply installations.
RVNL shares closed at ₹221.25 on the BSE, down ₹2.75 or 1.23% on the day of this announcement.
