Mumbai: Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd has secured a ₹219.18 crore contract from Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation Ltd (MRVC) for the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of signalling systems for a new suburban railway line under the Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP IIIA).
The project involves comprehensive execution of modern signalling systems and associated equipment for the proposed suburban corridor. The contract is scheduled for completion within 36 months from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
Additional ₹27.67 Crore OHE Maintenance Order
In a separate development, Texmaco has also received a ₹27.67 crore (inclusive of GST) order from South Western Railway for comprehensive annual maintenance and breakdown restoration of overhead equipment (OHE) and power supply installations in the Mysore Division.
The two-year contract covers 1,046 track kilometres (TKM) of electrification infrastructure and related electrical assets. The scope includes:

Excluding GST, the maintenance contract is valued at approximately ₹23.45 crore.
Portfolio Expands to 3,702.62 TKM
With these latest wins, Texmaco’s cumulative OHE and power supply maintenance portfolio has expanded to 3,702.62 TKM, spanning multiple divisions of Indian Railways.
The company’s electrification footprint includes projects across the Bengaluru Division and select sections of the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL).
Strategic Significance
The MRVC signalling contract strengthens Texmaco’s presence in Mumbai’s suburban rail modernisation programme, while the Mysore Division maintenance mandate reinforces its role in railway electrification and asset management services.
Industry observers note that the combination of signalling execution and OHE maintenance orders positions Texmaco as a key private-sector player in India’s rail infrastructure expansion and electrification drive.
